There is a whole floral fragrance that comes with the ginger scent. It is a pleasant enough smell, but not one that really tempts your appetite. It is more a flower smell than a food smell. On the plus side, this hard seltzer has a really great carbonation level. To really maximize the enjoyment of this hard seltzer, consider serving it in a clear glass over ice. The way the bubbles interact, tap dancing their way across the stage to burst at the surface with a satisfying fizz. Truly Pomegranate Ginger Fizz Hard Seltzer Falls Flat

The quest to find the next great hard seltzer flavor is an ongoing mission. As you taste test your way through the newest flavors, you’ll find ones that you like a lot and ones that don’t quite measure up. And unfortunately, this offering from the Truly Holiday Party Pack just doesn’t have a lot going for it. You really don’t taste the pomegranate at all, which is very disappointing because pomegranate is a very lovely flavor. Nor is the ginger highly discernable. In actuality the hard seltzer tastes a bit like soap (now we know how Ralphie from “A Christmas Story” must have felt).  It’s just difficult to find positive things to say about this flavor. It just doesn’t measure up compared to all the wonderful flavored hard seltzers that Truly boasts.

Good Fizz is All There is

In terms of alcohol content, Truly Pomegranate Ginger Fizz is middle of the road. The hard seltzer has a relatively average 5% alcohol by volume (ABV). Made from filtered water, alcohol, natural flavors, cane sugar, and stevia sweetener, this hard seltzer never really lives up to its name outside of the fizz. The hard seltzer has a great carbonation level like other Truly flavors. But in terms of flavor, this one misses the mark. Fizz? Check. Pomegranate and ginger? Hello? Anyone?? Bueller??? You can’t taste the pomegranate at all, and the ginger is not much better. The end result is a hard seltzer that tastes a bit like liquid soap. The other flavors are in the pack are much better, but this flavor is just not that appealing. Re-gift away!
