Hard MTN Dew Baja Blast Variety Pack

Very few sodas have a cult following like Mountain Dew Baja Blast. In 2004, Pepsico and Taco Bell partnered up to create the tropical lime soft drink specifically for the fast food chain. The beverage and fast-food giants designed the soda as an “exclusive product” of Taco Bell, meaning you could only purchase the drink from the fast-food chain drive-thru and fountain machines. For nearly twenty years, Baja Blast has stayed extremely popular. Due to its popularity, 12-packs of these sodas are now available at retail stores as a limited release every summer. Maybe it’s the citrusy taste, or maybe it’s the bright teal color of the drink, but Baja Blast has become something of a cult classic among soda fans.

Fast forward nearly twenty years, and the Baja Blast flavor is still so popular that the Boston Beer Company, in partnership with Pepsico, added Baja Blast to the original Hard MTN Dew lineup in 2022. They didn’t stop there. Now the companies are releasing a Baja Blast Variety Pack for a limited time with three new flavors of Baja Blast.

“Just in time for summer, HARD MTN DEW is releasing a brand-new, limited-edition, never-been-done-before variety pack that is sure to cause absolute pandemonium across the country,” reads a May 2023 press release. The press release goes on to say, “This pack is so ridiculously refreshing and bursting with tropical flavor it’s sure to transport fans to paradise.”

Three New Flavors of Baja Blast

The Baja Blast Variety Pack comes with four tropical varieties of Baja Blast. First, the pack contains the “fan favorite” original recipe Baja Blast flavor. Next, we have the brand-new HARD MTN DEW Baja Blast flavors Pineapple, Mango, and Punch. These drinks are  only 100 calories and contain 0 grams of sugar. These Hard MTN Dew flavors are not hard seltzers (as many mistake them for). Instead, these are FMBs or Flavored Malt Beverages. Unfortunately, according to the brand FAQs, all Hard MTN Dew products contain gluten “since it is made using a process similar to beer.” Along with being a malt beverage, the ingredients include natural flavors, artificial sweetener, and certified color.

Everything We Know

The variety pack is a 12-pack of 12 oz cans. According to the Hard MTN Dew website, Hard MTN Dew is only available in select states. These states are Iowa, Tennessee, Florida, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Minnesota, Virginia, Ohio, Illinois, Arizona, Kentucky, Connecticut, and the city of Las Vegas. The brand has not released any information on the distribution of the Baja Blast Variety Pack. However, we would venture to guess that if you live in a region where you can buy Hard MTN Dew, you’ll be seeing these packs hit shelves soon (if they’re not already on the shelves).
