Bubly & SodaStream Team Up With Focus On At Home Market
PepsiCo Hoping Consumers Will Make Their Own Sparkling Water at Home
SodaStream is teaming up with its parent company’s well-known sparkling water brand, Bubly, in hopes of hitting a home run with the introduction of Bubly Drops.
Bubly Drops will be available for use with SodaStream to create six new flavors: grapefruit, blackberry, lime, strawberry, mango, and cherry. The zero calorie and no artificial sweetener drops will let buyers make their own drinks at home with the lineup available nationwide in 2021 and some availability online in November of this year.
PepsiCo’s purchase of SodaStream came just two years ago and was seen as a way for Pepsi to enter into the profitable and competitive sparkling water game as companies jockey for positioning behind industry leader LaCroix. Bubly is intent on closing the gap after an impressive 2019 which saw over $100 million in sales.
The timing of the release is no small coincidence with a global pandemic. Allowing drinkers to make their own concoctions of drinks at home with an eye on less sugary substitutes will almost certainly increase early sales.
